West meets East

After spending three months in Southern Thailand teaching children about sustainable tourism and English, I will be traveling independently throughout Southeast Asia (destinations to be determined). I will try to access my blog as often as possible but at the same time I will try to spend as much time as possible outside of internet cafes, experience my surroundings. Wish me luck...

Introduction

Today is September 16th, 2006. I am starting a blog from a soi off Ratchaprarop Rd. in Bangkok. Last night Ellen left after two weeks of traveling through Thailand. Highlights included tours with the school children from Thapput Wittaya to mountain temples and Andaman Sea beaches, learning how to drive a motorcycle, swimming through lazy waterfalls, and kayaking off the coast of an island paradise, among other activities. The next two and a half weeks will be interesting as they potentially include a trip through Northern Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. I intend for this blog to be less of a day-by-day itinerary and more of an emotive description of events incurred. Stay tuned...
