West meets East

After spending three months in Southern Thailand teaching children about sustainable tourism and English, I will be traveling independently throughout Southeast Asia (destinations to be determined). I will try to access my blog as often as possible but at the same time I will try to spend as much time as possible outside of internet cafes, experience my surroundings. Wish me luck...

Stuck in the Big Concrete

I was supposed to be well into my journey by now but due to a change in circumstances, I will be flying to Laos tomorrow morning. Our intention (I am now traveling with a friend) is to fly to Luang Prabang and make our way back to Thailand from there. I hope that the 12 days I have remaining will be enough.
Enough about logistics. Today I went to the Kenan office on the back of a motorcycle through Bangkok-- a must-have experience. I don't know what is scarier, the death-defying stunts of the driver or the thought of the carcinigenic smog you are forced to breath in. I saw a man smoking a cigarette and I decided that he was the safest of all... at least he had a filter. Tomorrow I will be in one of the least known countries in the world with an unknown agenda. When will life be this giving again.
